Tracy Jayne Trotter, FCMA
Non-Executive Member of the Board of Directors
Tracy holds over 25 years of experience within senior finance roles in the family-owned business sector. She is a CFO who is commercially focused and holds extensive M&A and turnaround experience following her 23-year tenure at the Scott Group.
She joined the business in 2002 – back then with an annual turnover of £7m – which thereafter embarked upon on a sustained period of growth and development. This period saw the Scott Group conclude the acquisition of more than 40 businesses, and growing to become the UK’s largest pallet manufacturing business – as well as a diverse group which by 2022 had annual sales in the region of £300m.
Throughout this time, Tracy was responsible for all Finance and IT across all business divisions – she grew these functions from a group of three to a team in excess of thirty-five people.
In 2022, the largest division – pallet manufacturing, reconditioned pallets, and all timber operations – was sold to a large international business, and in March 2024 this was followed by the sale of the industrial supplies division. In both transactions, Tracy led the financial due diligence.
Tracy is now a Director at the Neviswave Group, which is the family investment company of the former Scott Group shareholders, and includes a commercial/industrial property portfolio which continues to grow. It now consists of more than 70 properties, but has also further diversified to include residential assets, and a unique 14-apartment holiday development in Scotland.
Tracy’s experience led her to sit as a non-executive director on the board of Skills Development Scotland, Scotland’s national skills body, where she sat on both the Audit & Risk and Finance & Operations Committees for over four years.
Tracy was independently nominated and shortlisted as a finalist for Scottish CFO of the Year, in the Deal of the Year category, in 2023. She is a Fellow (FCMA) of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA).
